The Council of Economic Advisers (CEA) is a group of economists and captains of industry who advise the Scottish Government. It was established in 2007, meeting for the first time on 21 September. Minutes of its quarterly meetings will be published a fortnight after each meeting. It is intended that the council will publish an annual report on the condition of the Scottish economy. ==Membership== Membership (as of September 2015) *Crawford Beveridge CBE (Chair) - Former Executive Vice President and Chairman of Sun Microsystems in Europe, the Middle East and Africa; previously Chief Executive of Scottish Enterprise. *Sir Harry Burns - Professor of Global Public Health at the University of Strathclyde and former Chief Medical Officer for Scotland. *Professor Sara Carter OBE - Professor of Entrepreneurship and Associate Deputy Principal of the University of Strathclyde. *Professor Mariana Mazzucato - RM Philips Professor in the Economics of Innovation, SPRU, University of Sussex. *Jim McColl OBE - Chairman and Chief Executive of Clyde Blowers plc. *Amanda McMillan OBE - Managing Director of Glasgow Airport and Chief Executive of AGS Airports. *Professor Sir James Mirrlees - Professor Emeritus at the University of Cambridge, Distinguished Professor-at-Large of The Chinese University of Hong Kong and winner of the 1996 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences. *Professor Anton Muscatelli - Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Glasgow *Professor Frances P. Ruane - Director of Ireland's Economic and Social Research Institute. *Professor Joseph Stiglitz - University Professor, Columbia University and winner of the 2001 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences.
